What is rectification explain the working of full wave Rectifier ?
Rectification :- The process of conversion of Alternative current ( AC ) into Direct current ( DC ) is called Rectification. The device used for these is called Rectifier.
Full Wave Rectifier :-
*** In a full wave Rectifier two diodes are used.
*** The Secondary of the transformer is centre traped between diode D1 and D2.
*** During positive Half cycle load resistance biased and D2 is reverse biased so current flows through diode D1 only.
*** During negative half cycle of AC diode D2 is forward biased D1 is reverse biased. So current flows through diode D2 only.
*** These where the AC current is Rectifier. During the both Half cycle. These is observed at load resistance ( RL ).
Efficiency :- ( η ) :-
The ratio of out put power to input power is called Efficiency.
η = Pout\pin
0.812 RL
n = 0.812 RL /RL + rf×100
n = 81.2 RL /RL + rf
For ideal diode rf=0
n = 81.2 RL/RL + rf
n= 81.2%
